Discord party games, no screen share
Streaming a party game over Discord means one person shares their screen and everyone else plays a few seconds behind. Backchat skips the stream: everyone opens the room on their own phone and plays in real time, while you talk over voice.
How to play on a call
- Jump in a voice channel.
- One person starts a room at playbackchat.com and pastes the code in the chat.
- Everyone joins on their phone or a browser tab. Nobody shares a screen.
- Write, vote, and roast each other on voice.
Why it beats a stream
Every phone runs the game from the same clock, so nobody sees the prompt late or loses seconds to lag. If you do want a shared view, say for a streamer’s audience, open the room’s TV view and share that: it’s decoration, the game keeps time on the phones.
Streaming to an audience
Anyone past the player seats joins as audience. Their votes count as a group and they can react live, so a stream’s chat is part of the game, not watching it.
